Today we traveled to the island of Capri, which is located off the coast of Sorrento. We woke up to a heavy downpour this morning. Luckily by the afternoon the rain had ceased. We too a large boat out to the island. On the way out, the waves on the Mediterranean Sea were very choppy. The waves got me a little dizzy. Thankfully, the boat ride was only twenty-five minutes long!
When we got to Capri, we took a small boat up the steep roads to the central downtown. Many celebrities come here to stay and some even have houses here! We toured the Roman gardens on the island, which were full of beautiful flowers!
We had lunch after seeing the gardens. I had a tasty salad with tuna. After lunch, we had the option to shop or take the boat around the island. I quickly jumped on the opportunity to take a boat tour. I'm so glad I did! It was an amazing tour. The sun was shining and the sea breeze was blowing. The water is crystal clear and the prettiest shade of blue here.
We passed by a couple grottos and saw many houses built into the cliffs.
We passed under the arch of the two Capri rocks. These rocks are the symbol of the island.
