Day 2 in Italy

Thursday, May 14, 2015

Buongiorno everyone! Italy is a beautiful place and it keeps amazing me with the gorgeous view and sights to see. I took the train to Brescia, Italy and I will be staying here for 3 days. We are visiting various schools and children here to learn how the schools here work and to interact with the children. Today we were well fed! We had homemade pasta and sausage. Something that is different than the states is the water in Italy. On our table natural water and fizzy water are placed. I tried some of the fizzy water and it's not bad, but I wouldn't drink it everyday.
After a wonderful lunch, we went to an English as a second language workshop. The program was taught by a Bristish women, whom was very knowledgeable and fun. We did various activities that she has done in Spain and Italy to help teach young children English. After our workshop, we went to see the old historical cars in the 1000 Miglia race. This is a 1000 meter race from Brescia to Rome.
Then we went to hike up to the Castello Castle. There were many stairs, but after climbing our way up we were struck with a breathtaking view of the city.
We had fun wandering around the castle grounds and climbing our way up to the top. We all walked back for another delicious, fresh dinner. We will be exploring the schools here in Italy for the next couple days.
Have a great day! Don't ride to work or school like this! It looks a bit treacherous.
